Sultan

Camarillo White Horse

All Camarillo White Horses are descendants of Sultan.

The Camarillo White Horse breed is descended from one sire: a white horse named Sultan. Adolfo bought Sultan at the 1921 California State Fair in Sacramento.

Adolfo expressed a deep fondness for Sultan, calling him "A stallion of a dream."

After purchasing Sultan, Adolfo bred him with Morgan mares to produce more white horses. He became a staple feature in Southern California parades. He headed the Santa Barbara Fiesta Days Parade from the parade's begining until his death in 1935 at age 20.

When Sultan died, Adolfo felt the loss of his beloved horse deeply. Remembering the stallion of a dream, Adolfo would say, "Sultan gave me a lot of pleasure and while I shall miss him I shall remember him as the most intelligent and gentlest horse I have seen."
