Description

Glossy photograph of a group of gravestones in storage from the former Ventura City Cemetery. Some carving visible and readable on stones. First example: "Wife of Robert Ayers, Died Oct. 1, 1893, AE.(?) 61 YRS. 9 MS. 6 DS." "Peaceful in the silent slumber, peaceful in the grave so low, thou no more will join our number, thou no more our sorrows know. Yet again we hope to meet thee when the day of life is fled; and in Heaven with joy to greet thee. There is no farewell tears arrested" "A Precious one from us has gone, A voice we loved is stilled. A place is vacant in our home which never was filled."
