Supervisor Ramirez attended the National Association of Counties Conference in Denver in June 2022. She worked with a group of California Supervisors to secure the passage of a Resolution adding Reproductive Rights to the NACo policy platform. This photo was taken and posted by the California Association of Counties on their Twitter account. The photo includes Monterey County Supervisor Wendy Root Askew, Ventura County Supervisor Carmen Ramirez, and Los Angeles County Supervisor Holly Mitchell.

----- Additional Thoughts from Wendy Root Askew:
Supervisor Ramirez was a force for good in this world. She cared so deeply for the people of Ventura and shared her wisdom and experience so generously with so many. My heart is grieving with Ventura.
It’s impossible to think that she is gone. I just spoke with her earlier this week. I needed more time to learn from her. I’m looking at pictures & thinking about her family, her husband Roy, her niece that she was so excited to see next week. Carmen was the model of leadership doing the right thing for the right reasons, with deep compassion and grace.
Rest in Power my friend. Your love has forever improved our world, Carmen Ramirez.
