[User contributed description]KC Rodriguez giving a Chumash blessing at Supervisor Carmen Ramirez's memorial service.
KC Rodriguez, a Chumash advocate, providing a Chumash blessing. Supervisor was a strong candidate for Chumash representation and understood the importance of giving respect to the first people of Ventura Co. It is because of Supervisor Ramirez that this photo of a Chumash giving a blessing at her memorial service along with the updated Ventura County seal exist. Advocating for Chumash people and the county seal change were both 2 of her strongest fights at the end of her life.
